Maxtrac 800MHz Smarnet mobile

We have some MOT Maxtrac Smartnet radios, both the C3 and C6 series, and want to know if they can be easily converted to operate as Privacy Plus radios(ie B6 and B7)? Thanx

Be easier to trade them than modify I would think. Matter of fact I do have some D45-B7's I'm not using and could use some C3's.

I'm not sure exactly on Maxtracs, but on most other /\/\ radios a C-series will cover all the features of a B series, but a B won't completely cover a C. I have a B series spectra and MTX that work just fine on the local Smartnet systems.

Any C model will do Type I trunking (privacy plus); Just add a personality for Type I trunking. You will have to have Lab or a system key to do it.
