Wanted: MSF5000 Expert ! I'm Having Controller Problems !

Post by Philadelphia »

I bought a MSF5000 UHF "CXB" Repeater that was missing the Controller board... I bought a "CXB" board from a fellow Batlab'er and I appreciate his help, but it just reads 888888 upon power-up. when I try to read the station it say's the station is not responding...I have studied and asked around and I think the new board needs to have a firmware chip that plugs in to the "CXB" card. There is a empty 28 pin socket on the board marked U803. If this true...CAN ANYONE SELL ME ONE.
This is a non-profit project and I would appreciate any help one may be able to give me.
Thanks... Phil

My two bits worth:
The board is "crashed" because its brains are missing.
Install U803, set your jumpers, program with the correct RSS and you should be good to go.

I can e mail you the .bin file for the SSCB U803 (V5.45) if you can program a 27C512
EPROM, or.
E mail me with your address, and I will send you a chip for cost, and talk you thru the set up procedure.
You will also need RSS V5.19, or 5.21. (5.21 is only required if you are running secure)
Aloha, Bernie

I can provide any version Firmware for the MSF5000.
I have licence from Motorola to distribute it.
