Does anyone know of a battery case that can be used with AA batteries?
Thanks
Using a mt1000 on AA batteries

I saw an HT600 once with an battery on it that had a door and a latch to put in the batteries. That one did use AA batteries. There was one on eBay a while back that looked like it was a case to take a small rechargeable pack or something, didn't look the same.
So yes, they are out there somewhere but i don't know about finding one the same color as the MT1000. The HT600 one i saw is the usual brownish color and it took 6 or 7 batteries i don't remember which. The output power was reduced while running on it and the battery life wasn't that great.
Your better off getting some extra NiCD packs, they only run about $20-$25 on ebay these days.

Duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side and a light side and it holds the universe together.

You wouldn't happen to know the part number of the adapter to put AA batteries in for the MT1000?
I'm sure its NLA by now, but its worth a shot.

kb0nly: Genesis Alkaline...:
I believe the correct P/N for the "pre-pack" Alkaline is NTN4870A, this should be for an average MAH rating of 2100, should be a 3 5/6" high battery unit. I have also seen these on eBay from time to time but the M/N is rarey referenced.
I will look into a loadable AA unit and let you know.
Good luck with this.

I use to make my own.
i would use a dremel tool to cut along the factory groove and pull out the old nicad cells. then i would buy a battery holder at Radio Shack, soilder the connections from the batt holder to the batt connections on the inside of the disected battery, load the holder up with 6 AA batteries of your choice, put the cut plastic piece back on the case and tape it on.
It looks a little hamsexy, but when your in the middle of a forrest on a search and your battery goes south who cares what it looks like.
Mine would last a few hours and that was back in the day. I am sure with the newer batteries out today it may last longer.
