Lab type software for Professional Series radios

Post by Johnno »

Is there such a beast?

I purchased a GP338LS from a well known auction website. When trying to read it 'Password' is displayed on the CPS.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestion on a way to rectify this problem. As it stands I have a $300.00+ loaf of bread.
The pictures listed in the auction show the unit powered up and all looked pretty good.
Am I up $hit Creek????
Yours in current dissapointment,
Johnno

Is there a way of getting around this situation?
Eg. Hex editing, re-flashing....
If so, I am willing to give just about anything a go. It is of absolutely no use the way it is.

A few of us can defeat the password, but only with the radio in posession.

Piece of cake!

I'm almost sure you bought the radio from a region of "hong kong?....Nevetheless, the region can be changed with some software out there. You can also do some mod's on your own software to accept other regions. LTR is all around the globe, such as the HT1250LS, and the PRO7350, GP338LS. The all do LTR but need different software. What did the seller sell it as? a 338ls or a 1250ls?

Later
Steve

p.s. did you pay by paypal
