What size power supply?????

I'm getting a flexar repeater UHF 40 Watt and It needs a power supply can someone tell me what size I need as far as amps etc. ????

I would use at least a 25 amp. This is slightly large for a 40 watt unit, but it is a repeater and will be powered all the time. For something like this, bigger is better. The larger one will generate less heat and last longer. A "switching" type is more efficient and smaller, but usually won't last as long as a good 'ol transformer/rectifier type.

An Astron RS-35A should do the trick, and have some power left over. It is the linear type, that Jim was talking about above. Many ham repeaters are powered on these, and are almost the de facto standard.

Not to say bigger is better, but most [ Fleaxar ] Repeaters
are sometimes [ 2 watts ] some are [ 15 ], and the max
is [ 25 watts ]

So, all in all, you should either get a Power supply that
will fit into the slot ( if its missing ) and I have a few if
needed, or note the [ Model ] number of the Flexar
Repeater and let us know.....04, D24, D34 ect...

Generally a 25 Watt Flexar only needs a 8-10 Amp power
supply.....( The factory original has 2 power transistors
mounted on the heatsink
