2005 / 2006 Ford 500

Post by Julian780 »

:)

Has anyone tried to mount a radio or two in the new Ford 500?

Nice cars and all, but that console is going to be a bummer to work around.

I will be trying to mount a Uniden 785 in one.

Best Regards,
Julian

I'm getting ready to do an install on one for the local sheriff's office. It will be a Kenwood TK-780 w/ quickmount remote kit. I'll try to get some pics....

Ford 500 Mount

Post by Julian780 »

Way cool!! Yes, please post some pics. If you don't mind include the brand and model numbers of components used.

Tips on methods or steps taken to get a good steady mount to the car would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much and take care, :)

There is an agency in Massachusets (Wapole twp maybe?) that uses one as a supervisor's vehicle, with radios, light bar, etc.

There are pictures online IIRC

I did one for a local police chief. Managed to get an M1225 and an EF-Johnson (remote mount) 800mhz radio in the center console storage area. I put a Whelen alpha remote siren in it with some lighted toggle switches for that and the lights on the console as well. Once you get the console apart there is plenty of room to "stuff" some stuff under it.

IIRC = If I recall correctly.

If people were to use google a little bit more; they'd find the answers they were looking for. Bloody lazy people.

:D

Thanks for the link. Makes a pretty good looking Po-Po car. I was hoping to find a pic of the interior. I'll do a Google and see what I can find.

Thank you for the link. I really appreciate it.

Maybe contact the agency and see if they can help, of see if they can provide the name of their installer.
