Opened EX600 and got SYNTAX UNLOCKED message.....

Post by /\/\oto /\/\edic »

I took apart the case to see the insides of this radio and to make sure it was not corroded and such and when put back together I got a "Syntax Unlocked" message. What does this mean and how do I fix this??

Help.....

SYNTH UNLOCKED would indicate that the synthesizer is showing an out-of-lock condition.

You took a perfectly-functioning radio apart to find out if it was "corroded"? Sounds fishy to me. I don't suppose the radio got wet/damaged before you opened it up, did it?

I'd be looking for poorly seated flex connectors, unless the radio did take a bath or something previously, in which case it's a crap shoot. Unless it's a loose flex, I'd say you're looking at a new RF deck.

If it worked before taking it apart, then I'd say its a loose or misaligned flex connector. Try taking it apart again, and reseat the connectors.

Good luck :)
