OK, I have two questions. But before I ask them, I need to give a little background info.
I bought a used XTS-3000. I used RSS versions 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0 and got "Codeplug too new for this application" error.
So then I tried CPS. CPS told me there were errors with the codeplug, but did I want to load it anyway. I selected 'yes'.
There were errors in the conventional personalities. I wasn't interested in those personalities, so I deleted them.
Now if I delete all of the conventional personalites, the CPS gives me an error saying the codeplug is invalid because the Emergency Revert options for MODAT do not map to a conventional personality. In other words, there HAS to be a conventional personality with MODAT enabled AND that personality has to mapped in the Zone/Channel Assignment or CPS says the codeplug is invalid. I cannot find a way to disable MODAT.
Has anybody run into this problem?
My second question is once the codeplug has been created with CPS, can you ever go "backwards" and use RSS?
TIA

I don't know about CPS then back to RSS, but I would assume no.
As for the modat, MDC1200 options will do the same. Sometimes one option will be deleted before another, causing this sort of programming "loop". What you may have to do - create a personallity, enable modat on it, then go to the modat screen and change its options, then go back and take it out of that new peronality. This is common if you delete a personality, and the main modat screen refers to is (You delete Pers 45 and say the emergency revert is set to 45).
I most likey am a little confusing up there there, but try to disable any options, then delete the personalities, then add all your stuff again. Same applies with MDC1200 etc.

I agree with PJ. I have encountered this exact same problem before. You need to create a new personality(s)/zone(s) with modat and modat emergency revert enabled. You can then go back to the modat screen and change the items marked in red to values that won't give you an error.
Right now, the emergency revert table in the modat screen is probably all red and you cannot change any of it.

Yes, you're right. It is in red but I can't find the personality that has it enabled. I only have 1 conventional personality. If I didable MODAT in the personality, I get the 'invalid' error. If I go to the MODAT tab, the only options are to select which channel is the emergeny revert channel. I can't seem to disable it.
I imagine it's somewhere I haven't looked.

OK. I've created a new personality on a bogus frequency with Modat enabled. It is Zone 2 Channel 5 in this radio. Then, the 'invalid' goes away.Chris wrote:You won't find that personality because it is not there anymore. You need to create a new personality and new zones that the modat is currently programmed to revert to. Once you create those new personalities, you can change all the stuff in red.
When I select 'Modat' on the tree view, it opens a Modat window. The options to adjust are Unit ID, Pretime, and an Emergency Revert box with 3 Zone boxes and 3 Channel boxes. If I change the Zone OR the Channel to a different Zone/Channel (other than Zone 2 Channel 5) then I get 'Invalid.'
The error box says:
Invalid Field Window
-------------------------------------------------------
Revert Table Channel 1 General in MODAT
This makes sense because I'm essentially trying to assign Modat options to a persoanality that doesn't have Modat enabled.
Now, if I go to the Conventional Personality, and select the Signalling Tab, I can change the Signalling Type field to 'None'. If I do that, I get 'Invalid.' The error says,
Invalid Field Window
-------------------------------------------------------
Revert Table Channel 1 General in MODAT
Revert Table Channel 2 General in MODAT
Revert Table Channel 3 General in MODAT
So I'm stuck in a three-way Catch-22:
If I change the signalling option to turn off MODAT, then it tells me the Emergency Revert options are wrong.
If I delete the personality, it tells me the Emergency Revert Options are wrong.
If I try to change the Emergency Revert to another Zone/Channel, it says 'Invalid.'
Unless I made a mistake in the trunking options, the Personality mapped to Zone2/Channel 5 is the only personality with Modat.
Any ideas?
