MT2000 Out of band tricks

Post by N2YP »

I just got a used MT2000 UHF 405-470Mhz. I know how to program an out of band frequency on the HT1000 (shift key) but can't get it to work on the MT2000.

I want to recieve a signal on 482 Mhz. Anybody know the trick?

MT2000 out-of-band

Hi,

If you go over the the "Radio Specific Info" on Batlabs.com, look under MTSX, and there is an excellent description of how to mod the programming software to move the band limits. All you need is a hex editor, and you don't even need to do a checksum!

Does it work?

Thanks for the suggestion. There is a comment at the end of the instructions that states "no guarantee it will actually work" So, I am wondering if anyone has tried the process and had success.
TIA

Works like a charm every time.

The disclaimer is because you can still get the FAIL 001 error code due to the synth out of lock.

E.G. don't go putting VHF frequencies in a UHF portable because you can.

No problem. I thought a drastic example would be both amusing, and get the point across.

Most Jedi PA's in the UHF will slide VERY far out of band on the RX, but TX will quickly diminish.

Good luck.

Really Alex? And how is receiving accomplished by the Power Amplifier?

I think he meant VCO

I amuse myself.
