Motorola Radio CPS Error 4-1379

Post by datacomm »

I am having a problem with one of my programs. It is the CPS Software VR06.0.00. It reads and programs a HT1250 just fine using a ribless cable. When I try to read a HT1550XLS it reads the radio, starts the program, and then gives me this error: "CPS ERROR 4-1379" please respond with any solutions.[/list]

Solution: Get a newer version of CPS.

That's a common error, indicating the radio has been programmed with a newer version of CPS. Latest version is 6.05.00, I believe.

Some Confusion on my part

Post by datacomm »

I'm confused here I have two different answers. The CPS is R06.01.00 and it is the AZ. What I am confused about is that if it is a region issue because of AZ, AA, LA... why will the software read and program an American HT1250 but will not read an american HT1550 that is when i get the "CPS error 4-1379"

More Info

I would like to get to the bottom of what the real solution to the problem is here. An AA version of the CPS or the newest version R06.05.00. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both. You should obviously be using the American CPS for American radios, and if the radio has been programmed with the newest CPS, that's what you'll need. I have seen that error code several times, and I only work with North American radios & CPS. It must be a 'general' type of error that can be caused by more than one issue. Get the latest & greatest proper CPS & your problems will be over.

There was a thread a few weeks back in which the regions were hacked to allow any region CPS to read any region radio. Look here:

This may help you. Of course, it won't help if the HT1550XLS has been programmed with a version later than yours (probably).

What radios do you own?: XTL2.5K,XTS2.5k, P25 stuff....

4-1379

Post by Johnno »

Just to add my bit.
I attempted to read a GP338LS with R06.04.00. The result at first was 'ERROR 4-1379'.
After alteration using 'REGEDIT' the radio could be read sucessfully.

Next, using the older version, R06.00.00 at first I get 'ERROR4-1379'. Once registry edited then returns 'Codeplug too new for application'.

As a result my opinion (Not based on any documented fact, so open to correction) is 'ERROR 4-1379' is a region error only.
