HT1250 EEPROM CS error
Well I finally did it. After all these years of programming radios
I turned my UHF HT1250 into the proverbial brick. It has the dreaded EEPROM CS ERROR. I tried to do a flash upgrade to the latest version to recover but it wont take. Any help or suggestions
appreciated.

For That Chewy-Gooey Tasting Radio system!
I recieved a codeplug form a generous list member that revived the radio but contained some errors. Wrong signalling type in call list when reading the radio or wrong signalling type in database when loading saved codeplug. When I try to delete any of the calls (MDC,QCII, or DTMF) the CPS crashes. Both rev 4 and rev 6 on several win98 computers. anyway the radio is working for now.
If anyone has a relativley simple codeplug for a H25RDF9AA5AN
HT1250 UHF low split please email it to me.
Thanks

A friend had an identical radio and I used his codeplug. The radio is back in working condition. Thanks for all the help. Is seems that a saved codeplug or one from the same model will restore an eeprom checksum error.
The same guy also had one that got interrupted in the middle of a flash upgrade to rev 5.08.03 The radio was completly dead, would not come on. Here is how we revived it. We started the flash process with my now revived radio attached to the computer. When it came time to flip the flash adapter switch and remove/replace the battery we disconected my radio and installed the dead one and followed the instructions. The flash completed and the once brain dead radio was as good as new with all the original codeplug, serial number info still intact.

I know it's possable to revive CS Error HT1250's without having the original codeplug. I don't know how it was done, because a friend of a friend had it done to a UHF HT1250 with CS Error. Unfortunally this friend is no longer a friend of mine, and won't talk to me anymore. But I know if I ever talk to him again, that's the first question I'm asking him!!!!! I'm very curious how this was done.frodo wrote:To revive an old topic (I actually used the search feature)
If I had an original codeplug, how would I write it to a ht1250 displaying the "EEPRM CS ERROR"?
Is there any thing more to it than simply hitting the write button?
I have a feeling it either has to do with cloning one good radio to the bad radio OR the HT1250 must be in boot mode to accept a new codeplug.

The "HW" in the error indicates "hardware" error, as opposed to the original radio in this thread, with "CS" indicating "checksum" error. You very likely require repair to the radio, writing a codeplug won't work.

For the GP338 you have to use the european Fashgrade for GP3xx!
If this will not start, you can try the Lab Flashgrade and program a new
codeplug. The hardwarecodeplug error is often a problem with GP3xx radios containing an old Phase 1 or 2 firmware.
For more infos look at my homepage.
