spectra antenna ?

i need to get a bnc adapter to fit on my spectra .

what type of antenna output is on the spectra so i can get a adapter?

i know it threads on is that a sma?

I've always wondered that myself, at one point they just went Mini-UHF on everything. I like how my old faithful X9000's have real SO-239's on them, actually its the output of the T/R relay.

Real SO-239s... which are even a bigger piece of junk than the Mini-UHF.

I'd like them to do here what they do in Europe - use BNCs. If that's not enough power handling, use Ns on the high-power drawers. Real connectors.

I have yet to have a single problem with PL-259's and SO-239's, but maybe that's not the norm, who knows...

If i was to replace them with anything it would be an "N" connector. I hate BNC's, they are just too sloppy and loose feeling.

UHF ( PL-259, SO-239 ) connectors can't handle 900 MHz or higher - the impedance varies too much and the connectors give a big bump there.

I think the reason they went MINI-U was from the cellular bag phone era, they ended up with millions of the MINI-U connectors so ???????????????

Just my 2 cents but it makes business logic.
