Hello,
I'm fairly new to this but have purchased some SP-50 (UHF 10 channel Models) to use at the races. All the radios currently talk to each other but I'm interested in programming some different frequencies into the free channels. Some of my racer friends have some old P-50 that I would like to communicate with. I have read alot about what is required to do this and have found this RIB on Ebay and was wondering what the opinions were on it? Is there another aftermarket RIB that the people here would recommend?

Based on the info on this site I will also be converting one of my charger stands into a programming stand. I have yet to open it up but assume the conversion requires moving one of the two top side pin connectors down to the empty bottom slot. Any additional information is always welcomed.
I would also be interested in paying someone (if reasonable) if there was anyone already equiped to do this in the Allentown, Pa area.
Thanks,
Mike

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
one thing i've found out with those sp50's that are from the so called racing radio place are hacked. there is ignition noise around 460 so they hack them up to around 477 and i couldn't read them until i figured out what they were doing. so your sp50 software that you get from Motorola won't work right with them unitl you figure out what they did.
