ok, i have searched and found a close but not difinitive answer.
will a maxtrac decode MDC?
if it is capable what do i need to do in the RSS?
i have tryed the obvious in the RSS and when i key up a radio with MDC encode all the maxtrac does is flash two zero's on the display.
im using a UHF maxtrac 300 32ch 16 pin. firmware 5.34

Not sure on the Maxtrac but my GM300 will decode all MDC ID's assigned an alias in the Call List, any that aren't on the list will decode as 00. You have to enable this feature in RSS also, I think it is in MDC System. An added note, my GM300 also decodes Emergency IDs any in the list. The display alternated between EE and the 2 number ID assigned. The radio also sounds an audible alert. Hope this helps, again this is me GM300. I don't have a Maxtrac.
