Don't laugh but SMS is comming on project 25
300 predefined messages
free form messages to 200 characters
uses control channel
portables can send and recieve.
XTS1500 with displays is due (if not already) model 1.5 to replace model 1
and a new form of channel alocation to stop scanning
not to mention the advanced system key which will prevent hackers getting on the system (this is out now)
