Problem programming AS III

Post by radmano »

Attempting to create codeplug for AS III with CPS (R01.03.00). When I try to save/write, I get an error message saying "Invalid Fields-Revert Table Channels 1,2,3 Window-General in MODAT". I do not want MODAT in any channels- how do I get rid of this. Thank you

When you create personalities with MODAT enabled, you need to set the emergency revert channel table for MODAT. I've never used CPS, but DOS versions of RSS would put "?" for the emergency revert channel numbers. This is probably the problem.

If you want to remove MODAT, there should be a "signalling" field for each personality that specifies the signalling type for analong personalities. You want have to check each personality to see whether MODAT was inadvertantly selected and unselect it.

The fastway to get rid of the message is to create 3 personalities, assign them to a zone, making sure that the personalities have modat enabled. Select them in the Modat window, and the red invalid fields will go away.

Thanks for the replies guys- actually I already switched to the DOS RSS and it doesn't seem to have the same problem. I will try the solution you suggested Alex for educational purposes. (I definitely did not have MODAT enabled in any of the personalities before though) Thanks

Weird MODAT Stuff Too

Post by Caffiene »

Remember, I had the same problem with CPS 1.02 on an XTS-3000.
I posted the problem here in the forum and the suggestion was to delete change the signalling then delete the personallity.
It did not work. A person here in the forum offered to fix my codeplug by using a hex editor. I emailed him my codeplug several weeks ago and haven't heard back.
I believe Mot might have a problem with CPS. The program behaves as if once MODAT is enabled, it cannot be disabled. If you remove it from a personality, CPS says the Emergency Revert is invalid.
I have other weird things going on with the radio and it may be because of CPS. This is why I made another post requesting a virgin codeplug for my XTS for use with RSS.
I'll keep you all posted.

After re-reading Caffienes earlier posts, I agree it probably described the same CPS glitch. I was able to get rid of the invalid message by creating 3 dummy personalities as suggested by Alex. However, at this point I have no confidence in the CPS and will stick with RSS.
