Pro Series mobiles standard mic cause radio to unkey

Post by bnn121 »

I got this from a friend in the business.

Standard microphone AARMN4025B

The problem seems to be more pronounced in the display models (CDM1250 and 1550). Below is a description of the defect.

The standard microphone (AARMN4025B) that comes with the professional series causes the radio to come un-keyed when transmitting.

1) When talking loud (heavily modulated) into the mic or overdriving the radio, the mic will un-key the radio even though the mic is still keyed up.

2) The backlighting will flicker on the display models.

3) Repeating the above several times seems to lock the radio up and it cannot be reset until power is removed from the radio.

Motorola is looking into the problem but it maybe some time before the problem is resolved. We noticed that this problem only occurs with this microphone, other microphones work fine. We are not sure how far back this problem goes but we do know that microphones code dated 0617 to 0627 have this problem from what we have observed. This problem may extend further back.
