What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

I've never seen one that didn't do MDC, even with a very, very basic flashcode. There are some more advanced MDC features that was an option, but I think basic MDC PTT ID has always been supported. IIRC, the very first firmware release(s) MAY have not supported it, but those are hard to find from what I recall from other posts. It was available on a radio I had with firmware release ap_3.x that had a conventional/analog only flash. That's pretty old.

At least the MT2000 did QCII though, with the later firmware releases. Still, give me an A/S anyday.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but will a Astro Saber flashed with Smartnet only will do MDC as well?

I actually had a UHF that was flashed with Smarnet/analog only flash, and it did MDC. That also had 3.x firmware, but I think the radio was hacked before I got it. When it would rx an MDC burst, it would reset the radio.
