Call a Motorola dealer <wink> and you can get them. You won't find much OEM stuff on fleabay since people there have an aversion from quality and price is all that matters 8)

What radios do you own?: Mocom 70 w/scan!!

Panter88 has some of the Commander mics w/o the channel knob on ebay at this time. Panter is in HK, but has always been good to deal with, he will not rip you off.

I have a Commander, and IMHO the RX audio is not as good as the NMN6191/93's.

What radios do you own?: Progreso soup can with CRT

"Astro" spkr/mics...

Post by Tom in D.C. »

Those aftermarket units the seller chooses to call
"Astro Saber" are really just cheap speaker mics
with half of the attachment fitting on them. They
don't have the antenna thingie that adds a lot to
the stability of the unit. You end up with the whole
connector block held with just the one screw, which
I think is a weak link.

But, hey, that's just me.

I second everything Jim has said - the audio on the commander is tinny by comparison to the 6191/3

if you get these cables and add any jedi/xts speaker mic head on these, you are good to go!

I have the Jedi-Type mic (pictured above) on my AS3, and the audio really is much better than any other ones. Even has the rubber PTT, which I myself like better.
