LTR link

Post by RADIONET »

I am planning to convert a conventional VHF 3 sites 3 channels system to LTR. The links are in UHF.
How can the link be done ? I will use the Trident boards.
The customer already has the CDM1250 for mobiles and HT750 for portables.

tks

CDM1250 does not feature LTR trunking, and neither does the HT750.

What radios do you own?: AM/FM

get yours hands on an LS+ model of the 1250 and you can go to town. We did a similar thing, with atrocious results (which i anticipated, but did it proof-of-concept anyways) with a bi-directional link system (just to prove to someone that it would work).

The conventional users will not get a PTT beep, and they will also not get a busy signal if the LTR is busy...and you will have to program a delay into the front end of the VHF to give the LTR time to come up on PTT...otherwise you will get some hideous front end-clipping.

It can be done...will it work as good as you think? no.

See this thread, I think this will do what you are looking for (interface conventional system to trunking and deal with the delay)

Specifically look down at the TCB-1.

I never acutally used it though because we ended up converting the customer over, all the radios at once and never had a hybrid system.

There is no such thing as a CDM1250LS+ either. No CDM1250 will do LTR trunking
