SP50 programming help...

Post by VE9MP »

Ok, I'm stumped...

I have a nice new Sp50 that looks like its never been used...

P93YQT20A2AA

I don't have extra chargers kicking around to mutilate and make a cradle, so I made my own cable, as per the Batlabs specs...

Pin 1 goes to the second contact up from the bottom
Pin 15 goes to the bottom contact..
11 and 4 are jumpered on the rib end....

Radio was powered from the battery

Was using version R.04. software, known good computer, RIB, good battery...

When I hit F2 to read, it says reading radio for about 3 seconds then a error comes up saying to check the connection, power, ect..

The side contacts are making a connection with the radio board, it all checks out on the ohmeter...

Please tell me i'm just overlooking something simple...

You are running it under DOS. It will not run under windows.

I was well aware of the Radio God, you know, the guy who decides if and when the magic smoke will come, or if the nice new jedi off ebay will have a good screen like its supposed to...

I guess he's on my side for once and let me program my Spifty, plug and pray baby....
