MDC ID ALPHA DISPLAY?

MDC ID ALPHA DISPLAY?

Is it possable to instead of getting a # on the MDC ID dispay that it could display letters?

ex. ID: 1234 would read ID: TEST

That is only possible if the radio has an mdc alias list and is capable of associating the mdc decode to the alias list. Astro Spectras and Sabers/XTS3000 do not do this. I believe the XTS5000 and XTL5000 do, but dont quote me on that. I know the XTS2500 for sure does.

HT1250, HT1550XLS and some MTS2000 and MT2000 A7 (front display), if flashed properly for MDC decode and Caller ID is set to Alias List. CDM1550 and CDM1250 also do this feature.

Just remember you will still have to program th transmitting radio with the regular MDC ID (0-9 and A-F). Then you'll have to setup the call list on the recieve radio to match the ID
