I was messing around with my HT1250 the other day and something strange happened. I was pressing a combination of keys just to see what would happen. Without remembering what keys I pushed the radio went into some sort of programming mode. The display showed some modifible fields. Like channel spacing, tones ,etc,etc... I could move the channel spacing form 25 to 20 to 12.5. I quickly put the spacing back to where it should be and turned the radio off, not wanting to mess it up severly. I haven't been able to get to this point since then. Any help or intrustions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. I will keep trying to figure out how this was done.

Thanks

GREAT! Now we're all gonna break the power switches on our HT1250 trying to recreate this!! I tried to do it for about 20 minutes, but it powered up as normal.

I perofrmed this while the radio was already on. That is why it took me by suprise when it happened. It wasn't like some other radios I have had that needed to be turned on after a certian button pressing episode. Also I was pressing the limited portion of my keypad, not any of the DTMF keys.

This "mode" is the test mode for ht series, you turn the radio on and pess the bottom bottom 5 times then you scroll for spacing, channel and either tpl, dpl or csq with the other buttons.......have fun

I couldn't get it to do it. I tried to do it right away at startup and then again after it was powered up. Still no results. I take it you mean "push the P2 botton 5 times" correct??

This is a documented test mode.
Refer to page 4-1 in the service manual.
This is for Rx and Tx tests.
There are no adjustable parameters in this mode.
Access to this mode can be turned off at the time of radio programming so is not available on all radios.
