Re: MOTOTRBO VHF
I'd bet that a battery for a 45 watt radio probably doesn't last very long at all?
Re: MOTOTRBO VHF
I think he's referring to the portable versions.
Re: MOTOTRBO VHF
They seem to last longer when in the digital mode on the portables. But they have not working really hard either.I have a TRBO Rental event coming up,they will put through the paces then.3 floord underground to 4 floor above ground in 700,000 sq ft per floor.HLA wrote:how's the batteries on those, how long do they last?

Re: MOTOTRBO VHF
While keyed down in digital mode, the transmitter is only operating at a ~50% duty cycle.wkr518 wrote:They seem to last longer when in the digital mode on the portables. But they have not working really hard either.

TRBO UHF rental results:
Was able to hit and open our TRBO repeater from handheld 57 miles north of it on low power setting.Texting and GPS features were right on also.Wish I had the Internet Gateway installed on it to try it out.
The in-building operation went quite good also.Subfloor 5 to Upper Floor 22 clear as day.Getting used to the digital vocode on receive end of things.
GPS on handhelds tracked me through the various floors and lost me in elevator shafts but no big deal.
1 to 1 calls went through as did some of the group calls.
Anyone know of the Icom/Kenwood FDMA digital system they are working on together? Just curious......

Re: MOTOTRBO VHF
Hi Wayne,
I have some questions about the TRBO line of equipment and it looks like you have used quite a fleet of them and could probably answer most of my questions. I'm proposing a VHF TRBO system for a native first nations in northern, alberta canada and i want to make sure that I have "all my ducks in a row".
I look forward to hearing back from you!!
Jamie
P.S. I tried sending you an email and PM but I keep getting errors from the batboard! So feel free to use my PM or email button to see if that works.
