ok......
1st what it "IMBE"
2nd what is dsp/host
3rd how can i find whitch DSP/HOST i have on a model 1 radio and the CPS i have come up with "UNKNOWN"
i am sure these have been talked about in this form but i have no idea where to look
so if you wanna help and do some schooling so i can learn and help someone else please do hook me up

I think you actually have to have read the radio to get the Host/DSP (It usually won't show this information in a "saved" codeplug, it has to be one that was just read). I think that's how it works....

Question 1 and 2 can be answered though the newbie's guide to astro radio made by two differnet authors.

IMBE stands for Improved Multi-Band Excitation and it is the vocoder used in P25 standard. More can be read here:

Host refers to the radio firmware while DSP refers to the firmware of the signal processing circuitry.
