antennas for LTS2000
Ive got to get some new antennas for some LTS2000 800mhz talkies we have, the threaded part actually has a pin that sticks out and contacts a point inside radio frame. Anybody know the oem part# of that antenna prefer a stubby will take either Thanks

Re: antennas for LTS2000
Motorola P/N NAF5037 is an 800mhz whip. Only 800mhz in my catalog, no stubby shown.

Re: antennas for LTS2000
Terry does your book ahow that as antenna for LTS? We have some Jedi frame radios too and this antenna looks like its different it has a male threaded part but also a gold pin that goes further down into radio and makes contact it doesnt appear to be same antenna that we have on our MTX8000 (Jedis)

Re: antennas for LTS2000
I'm getting a little confused Joe. Let's try to clarify with a photo.
This is a photo of a Jedi antenna and radio (MTS2000 VHF). Note the center conducter pin on the radio and the hole in the antenna. Your MTX8000s should look just like this. If not, you must have the wrong antennas on the MTX8000s.
The LTSs should use the same antenna as the JEDI radios. Does your LTS radio have the center conducter pin, like the radio in the photo?

Ok our antennas have that center pin that shown there IN RADIO , these will have an antenna that has that pin made into the antenna and that pin you can see makes contact down inside the radio (port)
I was looking in the Antenex catalog and they have one that I think is called "MD" but Antenex Tech support wasnt able to tell me if that was one for LTS2000, If Iuse Jedi anennas on these theres nothing to make center conductor hole of antenna connect to the antenna contact tats down in the port
Thanks for trying to help

Re: antennas for LTS2000
It sounds to me as though when you removed the antenna from the radio, the 5880376L01 antenna adapter came with it. In that case, you need to unscrew the adapter from the antenna and put it back on the radio where it belongs.

Re: antennas for LTS2000
I think Jeff may have the confusion nailed down. I know I've never seen a /\/\ Pro type antenna similar to what you've described.

Gee Joe, you asked a perfectly honest question about something you weren't certain about. You got replies that put you on the right track. Please, don't feel embarrassed dude...

Re: antennas for LTS2000
Yep, I'm with Terry. I only suspected what was going on because I've seen it before. There's a guy making good money on eBay selling those antenna adapters to people who've been stuck with radios that don't have them. It must be a pretty common problem. The adapter has a couple of slots in the top so you can use a Really Big Screwdriver to tighten it down, but if someone has overtightened the antenna the adapter is gonna come off with it regardless.
