Post by dbfd588 »

I have a 99 Silverado the new style. How do I bypass my healights so I can turn them off when I want to. I have the auto lights and I cant turn them off at night. Only if my e-brake is on. But when my ebrake is on the chime goes off. Anyway to disable the chime? Any suggestions please help ASAP. Id like to take care of this today before it gets datk

you might try to remove the bulb for the daytime running lights.

i got it. thanks. i cut off the little sensor. and wired in a led. As long as its got some resistance (led in this case) they stay off and allow me to turn them on manually

Are you talking about just the DRLs or the true auto-lights?

On my 2002 GMC with the auto-lights, I just hit the "dome override" button four times to turn them off. It's a lot better than some rigged up garbage

Trust me I tried that. I will not work on a 99. Only to have your lights off on a 99 is turn it off, apply the P-Brake, and then start it back up. Its so stupid. But anyway, I got it fixed. :o
