X9000 fail 01/90
Hi, I hope the X9000 gurus on here can help me get my new radio going, I had a 30 watt radio in my truck, I took it out and put my new 100 watt in there and I get FAIL 01/90. the 30 watter works fine. the book says serial bus error check cable. Any idea what the trouble is?

Check the remote cable, ensure the power is correctly run to the head. Usually the cause of the problem is a simple wiring issue, so start there and double check all your connections.

Re: X9000 fail 01/90
Hi Alex, Thank you for the reply, I double checked all the wiring it was ok. I found the culpert was a HLN 5317A. I remembered that the guy I got it from said something about it. I took out board and the 01/90 went away. Is this a common troube or did I stumble on to some thing else?

Could it be that the radio isn't programmed for MDC 1200, causing a conflict?

Jeff, I think you hit the nail on the head, I pulled the MDC board and the error went away. Now if I get it programmed It will go in my truck. Thanks for the reply!!!
