Help with files

Post by K5ILF »

I am having problems getting my rss files from a dvd back to floppies---There must be some way to get this done --- I can unzip the files, but upon installation they refer to disk2 or disk3 etc. Can anyone help me to get them usable so I can get my mt1000 and spectra working.
As usual, thanks in advance

You should be able to un zip onto separate files, and name them disk x.

I am not sure what you mean by RSS files on your DVD. How were these copied to the DVD?

Also when you copy from a hard drive to a CD, or DVD the files will be written as read only, once you get them back on a HD you will want to change them back to read/write.

I guess I am not making myself clear---I have a cd with my Motorola files on it. For example, under Spectra I have the following files:d040204, f060015, l050300, l0600005, r010000, r030100, r040300, r050300 and r060005. On the disk there are zip files with these titles as well as subdirectories with the same name. I do not know the meanings of the letters before the numbers, but I feel the numbers are the update numbers. When I try and install the files on the hard drive of my Toshiba 75mHz laptop, the installation programs keep asking for the 'second disk'. I assume that these files were created from floppies---I don't seem to be able to get around the problem---hence the request for info on the files. Hopefully this is not going to be a major problem. Thanks for the feedback.

Um, yeah. Obviously pirated RSS. We're not going to help you install it, sorry. Thread locked.
