Reqular saber squelch stays open????

Post by saberjerk »

I have several reqular sabers that the squelch stays open. I've tried every thing I can think of. Tried resetting it in the software.
That works while in the software but comes back when out of the serivce software. Doesn't seem to save the setting.
Tried swapping the mainboard to a different frame. Thought it was a stuck snap dome. Didn't change a thing.
Tried all different modules. Still same problem.
Models are: H43QXN7139AN and one CN
Thanks

When you reset the squelch setting in the RSS, does the radio keep that setting or does it revert back to the Original? If it keeps the setting, I would suspect U100 being faulty (U100 contains the squelch controller). If it reverts back, I would suspect the processor. Try another RF board if you have one.

When I set the squelch in the service software the squelch operates normally. I save the setting but it doesn't take.
It's only when I exit the service software. Then it just opens the squelch and it stays open. The radio works normally though.

Do you have a known working codeplug that you can blow into it? I had that happen once. I just took a good codeplug and used that as a starting point

Well since the software lets you make a new codeplug I have done that. I have never had any problems with codplugs created with this software. That didn't fix this though.

I have 3 or more radios with this problem. They are different model numbers so I can't believe it's a corrupt codeplug.
I guess I'll have to file this one in the "no one knows" file.

I have encountered the same problem on some radios with obviously corrupted service settings. Adjusting the service settings and reprogram them didn`t change anything. I had to create an default file and choose the RFP`s services settings, not the radios. After stuffing the file into the radio, the problem was gone.

That's a good idea keygun. I have been using the radios tuning. I will give that a try and see what happens.

Unless you have the equipment/experience/time to properly realign the radio, remember to make notes of the current alignment settings, so you can set them back to original after putting in the default values.

You were right Keygun.
I created a new codeplug and used the rss data.
Squelch now operates properly.
Fantastic
Thanks
