I attempted to purchase software from Motorola. One for the Spectra and one for the MT-1000. Now I realize that the only way to get software legally is from the source, Motorola. I received the following email from Motorola:

Case Update Notes:
Bill,
Unfortunately both RVN4001 and RVN4017 are obsolete software and are no longer orderable from our parts department. Is there anything else that we can help you wih or may we close the case?

Re: Software quandry
Motorola no longer sells software for significantly obsolete models like the MT1000 and Spectra. Unfortunately, as they are the copyright holder, your hands are essentially tied. There is no legal way for anyone to help you. You might try a local long-established dealer that could do the programming for you and would have the software on hand.
This issue has come up before and, unfortunately, there isn't a good, legal solution. I will remind everyone that trading RSS/CPS is strictly prohibited on this board, so please don't try.
