MCS2000 Remote Head usage

Post by indigo »

I will keep searching, but a quick question for MCS2000 remote head use: can a Model II and Model III head be interchanged between a couple different rigs (in this case a 25 watt VHF and a 110 watt VHF unit)? I understand that programming to suit may be required. Please forgive my ignorance if this has previously been addressed herein - I could'nt find it!

You can do this without any physical hardware changes (short of snapping the head off of one radio and onto the other).

You then need lab software, codeplugs to match the new configuration, and the ability to re-tune the radio when your completed.

This sounds "easy" however, Lab is a factory restricted program.
