XTL2500/XTS5000 problem

Post by tjpugh »

Has anybody else experienced the following problem with XTL2500 or XTS5000 radios?

The radio will randomly transmit on the announcement talk group instead of the selected talkgroup. It is happening on multiple radios. We are using an 800 MHz ASTRO 3.0 system that is at the "Z" release. We use XTS3000's and Astro spectras with no problems. We have checked the template, our local service shop has checked the template, Motorola system support has checked the Template. The users cannot get to the ATG in their zone/channel lists. The radios are not programmed for talkback scan. They are not "tailing in" on a console initiated ATG call. There is no patch set up. It happens any time of day and the users can be selected on several different channels when it occurs. We have a case opened with Motorola, and they are trying to duplicate it in the lab without much success. They can duplicate it, but only when a cloned radio is affiliated on the ATG in an adjacent smartzone site. This is not likely our situation since it has happened on 20+ different radios in the last month. When we opened the case, we found out that there was already a case opened from another customer (I think they were located in Florida) for the exact same issue. We stumbled across the issue by accident. I think that the users just chalked it up to user error when they heard someone else on their talkgroup and did not report the problem. Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing this issue.

Thanks,
Todd

We found that the 11.00.00 flash has many many many problems when it comes to trunking. 11.00.03 worked for us to fix allot of things. Just a thought.

Just an update. Motorola was able to recreate this situation in the lab and fixed it with version 12.00.01 software

Just came across this thread... Do you know if version 12.00.00 was causing the same issues with subscribers keying the ATG?

We are rebanding a city up here, and have checked all the subscriber programming with no errors found, but random XTS2500's from one department are keying the ATG affiliated with the selected trunking personality. We have reproduced the problem numerous times and have confirmed that no receiving radios were scanning. The subscribers are not programmed to initiate any group calls, either.

The system here is analog SmartNet and all affected subscribers are 800MHz XTS2500 M3,

H46UCH9PW2BN
FLASHCode is 001008-002410-0
Host/DSP is 12.00.00

thanks
