XTS2500 w/FPP OK with CPS Ver 12?

Post by scancapecod »

Hello,

I have a "panter88" XTS2500 VHF with Q52 and Q53 FPP on the way. I have studied the posts regarding earlier Astro 25 Portable CPS versions, but I didn't see (or missed) anything concerning any potential issues with CPS R12.00.00 of the software. As I'm an absolute newbie with FPP I figured I'd inquire here prior to creating a paperweight or at the very least eliminating the FPP capability. My use of the radio will be a combination of 2M ham use and VHF-HI P25 and analog monitoring.

I program our XTS2500 800 MHz portables at work but I haven't even opened R12 yet as I haven't had a need to do any programming lately. My earliest version of the software is R9.

Thanks in advance!

You will be just fine with CPS 12.00 with that radio. The problem is when you don't have both Q52, and Q53. The radios Lau is selling have both.

Thanks Jim. I thought that would be the case given that it has both Q52 and Q53, but always good to check with those who know far more than I. I appreciate the response.

Check "panter88" on eBay. That's where I got mine. It came in yesterday and works so nicely I made some adjustments to my radio inventory and ordered a UHF 380-470 equivalent from him today. The VHF model was in mint condition and works like a charm. I'll be using both for amateur radio, GMRS, MURS, and monitoring.

He states he has a few available. There is one VHF model listed currently, and another UHF 380-470 split model like the one I bought today ended yesterday. Drop him an e-mail from eBay and I'm sure he'll answer. I was amazed at how fast I received the VHF model all the way from Hong Kong. I had it in 5 days, two of which were the weekend.

Ok, Good deal... We just got two new XTS2500I in today. What does the "I" in the model number mean? All of our current VHF XTS2500's don't have that.

Man panter88 is one fast shipper! I ordered my xts2500i (UHF w/FPP) on Tuesday around 1pm est and already received it today by 11am est. Unit looks brand new. Now if only my battery would show up.
