unbricking and codeplug for MT2000

Post by kb3awq »

Does anyone know how to unbrick a MT2000? I have seen it done on a MT1000 by shorting something out I think.

I am searching for a codeplug also. I have posted on the codeplug site also but so far not for the correct model.

It is the top display type and here is what I am talking about and need.

For Radio Model Number:
H01KDD9AA4AN

Thanks.

Well I bricked my MT2000 A7 using lab software when curiosity got the best of me. When my radio was bricked the only life it would show is a steady green LED status next to the antenna. Nothing else, I am guessing that is what your radio is doing now? Well thank fully I did the below steps outlined in the MTSX Section of Batlabs.
LAB SOFTWARE FOR BACKING UP THE RADIO! Conventional RSS will NOT back up a radio like was previously thought!

From the Main menu select F3>F4>F2 to read the radio with no unpack
From the Main menu select F3>F6 to Write S-Record

Type in a unique name ending in &guot;.bin" so as to not mistake it for anything else
Then press F6 to write the archive.

Because of this I was able to bring my radio back to life, Maybe perhaps you did the same? Good Luck

Well your are correct about the steady green light as thats all it does. I tried every file I had in there. I Must have forgot to back it up. I have for any other radio except this one... figures.. I have different code plugs but then they say the SN doesnt match and says about going into the clone section of the software and read the SN so I do that so I usually can get past that part cause I can type in the Serial number. Then the problem of the model number.... Also some of the code plugs I have some say too old and some too new. I thought I had the latest version.. Its something like 6.7 with some zeros in there. The previous version also. Just wasnt sure what to do as I cant seem to find anyone with a codeplug that matches, which seems odd with so many of them out there... Thanks again.
