HT1250 Firmware

Post by rvail »

Does anybody know if the HT1250 is flash upgradable
like an mts2000?.
I have a couple of early HT 1250's, and
a couple which have Version 2.00.02 on the serial # tag.
The newer ones will take some newer programming features
that the older ones dont seem to acknowledge. Also,
after programming the older ones with newer software
(CPS 6 ) I have to disabel the VOX feature or else
my remote mike squeals horriblly when keyed.
I am hoping some kind of flash upgrade is available.
Thanks

Take them to your dealer or to motorola.

Mine locally charges ~$50 if they know what your talking about.

They are simply firmware upgrades, and not anything special beyond that. You'll only get what new features the firmware brings.

I was afraid of that. Sometimes dealers dont know
what all these things are capable of , or what
the latest changes are. But sometimes we have
no choice. But at least you say it is upgradeabel
Thanks

Latest upgrade is 5.3 and only a dealer can get it from Motorola; I can do the upgrade if you want to ship them to me. There are a few good additions over 2.2

I'll leave it at -

One dealer in my area thought for sure I wanted a flashport upgrade... for crying out loud folks... THESE ARE NOT FLASHPORT radios. These updates are AVALIBLE FOR FREE from your motorola online account.

The other dealer in the area knew exactly what I was talking about but couldn't figure out why in god's name I wanted the update. I told him I like to keep my equipment up to date, esp. with the history with the radios. He still didn't get it... then he said it doesn't make a difference unless you program the radio yourself. I said I do. He said ah ok, $50 then. I don't have the flash upgrade for the radio, nor do I want to do it... I'll leave that to someone who can guarentee their work.

Quick question about that last post - there is a firmware version allowing to use VOX function with a speaker mike? I recently upgraded my firmware to 5 something and am curious about trying that out
