Problems upgrading firmware - HT1250

Post by Hightower »

Have a HT1250 with older than dirt firmware R01.00.03. When using the firmware upgrade kit (R05.13.04), I get the following error: "Reply from external device contained Checksum Error"

The radio reads and writes fine with current CPS, and older CPS.

Would like to get this "beta" firmware upgraded in this HT1250.

Any ideas?

You'll need to perform an upgrade to version 3 (or somewhere in that area- I cant remember the exact version) as an intermediate step. Then perform a second upgrade to the most current version.

Your current FW is ancient, but the 2-step upgrade should work just fine.

They used to supply 2 separate upgrade files up until 5.00.09 or thereabouts...one for upgrading from firmware versions 1.xx.xx, and one for upgrading from newer than 1.xx.xx. I assume they stopped it because of the amount of development time required for what is likely only a handful of radios left out there with such old firmware. If you have an older CPS CD...like 6.01.00 or earlier, they used to come with firmware upgrades which would get your radio into the 3.xx.xx range. If you need to, PM me your email & I can get you one of the 1.xx.xx upgrade packages.

This is incorrect, the firmware upgrade kit works fine on XP. Speaking from personal experience, of course.

Back in the day when I had to deal with HT750s I went from version 1.xx.xx to version 5.xx.xx no problem.
