HT1000 Power Problem

Post by Vercomm »

Hey Guys,

Working on another HT1000, unit will not power up. Fuse and switch are both good. I swapped the controller with a good known unit, no change. I put the original controller back i and swapped the RF board for a good known one and i get a good power up tone.

I started digging in the manual (should ave done that first, but its late and I'm not running at 100%). I've chased the problem down to the 5v regulator U202. Pin 8 has 7.5volts in, but nothing out. I swapped out U202, but that didn't help.

Did i miss something, or is there a chance that my replacement U202 was NFG too?

Thanks

i have noticed that when the on/off switch is off the voltage measured on the battery terminals is 7.5v(from my power supply). when i switch the radio on, the voltage across the terminals drops to 1.5v.
