Decoding Mot QC1

Post by scvfd1204 »

I am trying to determine the old tone plan that was used in my county a while back. They used QCI to activate the sirens and Plectron tones for the pagers.

I have all of the pager tones figured out since they still bang those out with a Zetron 25, but I cann't remember which tone plan they used for the QCI stuff.

I have a decent recording of one of the QCI tones being sent, with the minor "blips" due to priority scan. Is there anyone out there that can advise how to decode these tones clearly or is there anyone out there that can do this?

Thanks in advance!

Jeff,
You may be able to figure these out by using audio software such as Audacity, or Cool Edit 96. IIRC, I used Cool Edit 96 to decode QCI in the past, unfortunately, CE 96 is hard to find now. If you want to send me a wav file, I'll take a look. Vernh911_at_ AOL_dot_com

Thanks Vern. I have CollEdit 96, but I cannot find a way to analyze the individual frequencies. If I could remember which tone plan they used I could probably figure it out quicker, but I cant remember for the life of me.

Hopefully the clip I just sent to you will work for decoding purposes.

Thanks!!
