The display screen on the xts 3000 appears to have an s meter like the ht 1250 does, how do I get it to work??? I have astro CPS (purchased from Motorola), so I can get in and program it, I just can’t figure out what to do to make it work. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Tom

Tom,
There is no such devil on the XTS3000, what you are looking at is the battery indicator.

It's there and I've wondered the same thing. Look at the top right of the display while turning the radio on. I know the radio is capable of monitoring the RSSI for conventional voted scan and trunking site selection, so it seems possible that it could function. Maybe a furture firmware update?

From what I saw in the CPS a while ago, I was under the impression that the RSSI is only used on a wide area, multi-site (OmniLink?) trunked system. I'm not sure about this, but I think it is used so you can see the signal strength of the site you're using (helping you make your decision on choosing the best site). As far as I could tell you can't use it on a conv. system or a smartnet system. Anyone confirm/deny this? I may have dreamed it up or something...dunno.
