XTS5000 MDC Decode

Post by KDN »

Having an issue with XTS5000's decodind MDC I.D.'s.

They radios are configured and will decode MDC fine but there are times that they have difficulty decoding I.D.'s that are programmed with an Alias in a call list not displaying. It does happen with I.D.'s not in the call list but not as frequent.

I was thinking it could be a DOS issue, does anyone have any reccommeneded DOS settings for the best decode method?

The flashcode does include Enhanced Digital ID Display and radios have 15.00.07 firmware.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Are you scanning, how strong is the signal coming into the radio, is it post or pre id , is it going through a repeater.

Lots of questions to ask first.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

if the id sent from the transmitting radio is set to pre and you're scanning you might not be catching the burst

XTS5000
15.07.00

Under PTT ID
ID Display is Checked
Scan ID Dispaly is Checked.

Issues happened more with Pre I.D.'s
It does happen when sitting on a channel or scanning about the same.

It does happen with channels going through a repeater, usually a very good signal, it is consistent on a 12.5 or 25 kHz spacing and through single site and simulcast systems.

Hope this provides a little more information.

Test it on direct versus going through the repeater.

Could also be issues with the tx'ing radios pretime since we are talking pre mdc.

I have thought the same thing as well but if I have a HT1250 sitting side by side, the 1250 decodes the MDC flawless but the XTS has some issues.
