I upgrade a few radios tonight, an EX600XLS and a few HT1250's.
After the firmware update was complete, the codeplug that was in the radio was gone, and a default codeplug was in the radio.
I always read the radio before upgrading the firmware so it wasn't an issue for me.
Any idea what the idea behind this is?
Thanks!

Re: Professional Upgrade Kit 5.17.01
My guess is that it also requires the codeplug version to be up-lifted. It is possible that the FW version you upgraded to made a change in features you can access with CPS, therefore a new codeplug was required.
Re: Professional Upgrade Kit 5.17.01
They added ARTS, which is a Vertex feature. So Spiffy is correct, the codeplug structure changed.
Re: Professional Upgrade Kit 5.17.01
Is the Waris version of ARTS compatible with the ARTS that's used on Yaesu's amateur offering?
Re: Professional Upgrade Kit 5.17.01
I don't know the answer to your question, but I can state that the Waris version is compatible with Vertex' implementation.
Re: Professional Upgrade Kit 5.17.01
Now they updated the readme file on MOL to say that ARTS is not avail in US models.

Yes, the structure of the cpg. file has changed but when writing a stored codeplug archive file back to the WARIS, CPS R05.12.02 will convert the structure of the codeplug for you.
