Anyone have the part number to the XTS5000 big dust port?

Post by MT2000 man »

Good day everyone !

Does anyone happen to have the Motorola part number of the SP accessory port cover for the XTS2500/5000 ?

Here is a link to what I'm talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/Motorola-XTS-2500-X ... 4157a5517e

I know posting a link to an auction that is not your own is a no-no generally speaking, but I'm just doing it to show you guys what I'm talking about here :)

Thanks !

I have a friend of mine that wants the exact part number for some reason.

He is a strange one lol

I'd figured I'd ask for the part number here in case someone wants to order it themselves. I searched the board, and there is no part number for this dust cover. I wonder if it even has a part number ?

From the looks of those pictures, It looks like it sits better on the 2500 than the 5k

Yes, I beleive that dust cover IS made to go on the XTS2500, but it will also fit the 5000 as well. It's just a super pain to get the original dust cover off, and it looks like that one will do a much better job / much more sturdy then the stock port cover.

Nice ! From the looks of most of the pictures I can find of that dust cover on an XTS5000, it looks like the little rubber piece that goes around the antenna does not fit on snug, like it does on the 2500. BUT, it does work, so.

But yes, I beleive I found the part number for that dust cover. It's 1571960L01, known as the "Heavy-Duty Program Dust Cover". So, if anyone wants the part number for it, I BELEIVE that's it.

Also, the only other mention of this dust cover that I could find on the boards is here:

http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.p ... 5000+cover

and the only mention of a parts number, is that of the standard plastic (the cheaper $3 one) cover.

Fits great on the 2500 but on the 5000 the concentric will be tough to turn.

That rubber thingie on top just gets in the way. I cut all of them off my covers when I was running XTS radios.
No question about the fact that the cover makes removal of the cover a "tool-less" operation.

Also, for those interested, here is a video a friend of mine made of the "heavy duty" dust cover:
