Maxtrac side tone loudness

Post by Bill Rogers »

Greetings. I have a maxtrac with a louder than normal sidetone coming out of the speaker with MDC activated. Does anyone know of an adjustment for this loudness in this model? Thanks, Bill

Bill, the answer is no adjustment in radio or setting in RSS other than disableing the Side Tone. If I remember, I made a change on the logic board to eliminate ALL "beeps", for a special application.

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

Some RSS's have an "Alert Tone" volume offset adjustment, or the like. As Will said, it may not apply to your radio, but its worth a look or good to know if you pick up another radio..

Yeah, that alert tone volume offset is a nice feature on the CDM1550 but not in the RSS for the Maxtrac. It's just odd that this particular Maxtracs tone is so much louder than all the others we have. Bill

Bill, sounds like there is a componet in the Maxtrac dying, and I could "fix" it and set any alert volume you want.
