Stuck here in Miami airport and notice these. What are they?

I would say it's either a WiFi access point or, more likely, some kind of motion sensor/security thing.
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

Looks like a wall mount scintillator probe, (radiation detector).

Could also be a smoke detection system for the fire alarm. I've seen a few similiar things mounted up high like this, they "watch" for smoke and in turn activate the fire alarm.

The number on the box follows the format of a multi zone fire alarm system but in todays world in a sensitive place like an airport who knows ?

Hey! I was right for once! I've only ever seen this type of thing used in one other place, and it was of a different design... Very cool none the less
