Rebanding Flash ?

The county near me is going to be rebanding soon and has to flash our xts radios. Is it just a firmware bump or a new flash code all together. Thanks

What XTS radios? Astro 25 portables (2500/5000) shipped after 2006 already include rebanding capable F/W, just program accordingly.

XTS2500 and 5000's just need reprogramming. Astro Spectras need a firmware bump and reprogramming. Can't recall the version number of the F/W off the top of my head.

Not always, i have a whole fleet of 5000s that needed firmware uplifts. If i remember correctly, FW 7 introduced the rebanding tables.

I know FW 5 on an XTS2500 doesn't do rebanding.

Correct, it started with Host R07.00.00

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Not all Astro Spectra's are capable of being rebanded. Be sure to provide all the information to them about the mobiles. The replacement radios for them are usually XTL2500's with some agencies being able to negotiate XTL5000's, but YMMV as it sounds like your an interop. agency to those being rebanded.

If they do need to replace your mobiles and have to do a change order it is quite a lengthy process, so just be prepared and patient.
