I recently acquired a 16ch GP300 select-v (with the LCD display). When this radio is programmed (with the proper RSS, I know there is a special one) The codeplug is read for a few seconds then it returns a "codeplug error -2" and I can go no further. This radio has not been hacked, at least to the best of my knowledge. So what do the experts think?
Brick? or salvagable? If so, how?
It seems to work just fine on the 2 channels that are already programmed into it. I turn it past ch2 and I get a steady tone. I'm guessing that those are the only 2 channels programmed into it.
Thanks all,
-Bill

Well, as talked about many times here, have you been using DOS and NOT a socalled DOS window in Windows? That RSS does not work in a Windows OS, the Win OS takes control of the serial port and the RSS has to be able to read and write DIRECTLY to the serial port. Real DOS allows the serial port to opperate correctly as the RSS was written for.
Boot to DOS 6.xx on a slower computer and retry.
