XTS2500/XTS3000 Flashcodes
Hello all,
Trying to see if the XTS3000 I'm interested in will work on the system I have my XTS2500 on.
What is Q574 used for??
They both have Q361 when decoding the flashcode. My 2500 has the Q574 but is it really needed?
D2 B4 Q361 Q361 Q361 ASTRO 25 9600 Baud Trunking [ a25p ]
D1 B4 Q574 Q574 9600 Baud Trunking [ a25p ]
Thanks

You can't directly compare options from the ASTRO to the ASTRO25 line. Some are similar, some aren't.
That said, your 2500 appears to be operating on a true P25 trunking system - 7.x, 9600bps control. The 3000 will only operate on such a system if its 800MHz only (no VHF/UHF/700), and if it has the proper flashcode and special firmware, which should be R06.71 now. The DSP obviously must have IMBE in it as well (I or N first character in DSP version).
The ASTRO25 platform is strongly preferred for operations on a 7.x system.

Model III 800
H09UCH9PW7BN
Firmware: 6.72.00
DSP: 8.03.05
Flashcode: 580008-000480-2
Does that help?
I know there is 700 and 800 on the system however I KNOW there are XTS3000's in use. Is it possible to use them but not on the towers that are 700/800 which I believe is how it works now?

That radio SHOULD be capable, but I'd want to see the letter that should be present in the DSP version. A common trick is to force a digital-capable flash into a 3000 and sell it as digital capable, even if the DSP isn't equipped with IMBE.
Yes, it is possible to have talkgroups 800-only. I'm not a 7.x guru, but I believe you can do this either by talkgroup or based upon current affiliations (if an 800-only radio affiliates, only use 800). However, this gets into complex system architecture - you need to speak with your system administrator, he can give you far better input than we can.

What are exact differencies between Q361 and Q574?

Acardam's decoder shows that both applicable for Astro25.You can't directly compare options from the ASTRO to the ASTRO25 line. Some are similar, some aren't.
I am biggest fan of XTS2500 and ASTRO Digital Saber.

Hmm, that's a bit of a necro-post.
They are both listed for the XTS2500, which has all sorts of weird options depending on what exactly you want to do with the radio. Type 2 only, P25 only, 3600/9600 interop, etc.
One more reason I hate the 2500s.

Not as bad as the 4 year old thread he brought back from the dead to ask a totally unrelated question.tvsjr wrote:Hmm, that's a bit of a necro-post.

Why you think that it's totally unrelated?MikeOxlong wrote:Not as bad as the 4 year old thread he brought back from the dead to ask a totally unrelated question.tvsjr wrote:Hmm, that's a bit of a necro-post.

Google show this tread wery well for a few different requests, why do not reply here? Topic starter has the same question, but it's not clearly responded, IMHO. Or you think that asking here is badly than start a new 23,852-nd thread?tvsjr wrote:Hmm, that's a bit of a necro-post.

I was referring to this post titled "Astro Saber III Private Call" that's been dormant since 2008 but you brought back from the dead to ask a question about the special version of firmware required for P25 9600 trunking.
With that subject title, starting a new thread with a more appropriate title would probably get you more replies.
