ht 1000 squelch question

Post by moustache »

Hello, I have a ht1000 vhf.
Can anyone tell me what the squelch values should be 26,27,28. The radio was programmed and it doesn't seem sensitive enough. I believe it may need to be set down.

Any information is greatly appreciated...

Normally the squelch settings are done with a service monitor/signal generator.

Go into the RSS squelch setting/alignment screen. Tab down to the frequency near your frequency. Adjust the softpot down until the receiver unsquelches. Then advance the setting until the radio squelches. Program that setting. Then F10 out of the RSS. Try the radio to see if it receives any better.

BTW, cloning from a different radio can cause alignment settings to be overwritten.

A full alignment may be required.
