Hi
I have a Motorola M1225 which I listed for sale and before I send it off I would like to verify the radio can be read and written to. I have the following version:
Motorola Radius 1225 Version 3.1 Release Build 2
DESCRIPTION:
This software is Version 3.0 of the 1225 Series RSS. It supports
the R1225 Repeater, and the M1225 and P1225 radios.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know the RSS for this radio is not backwards compatible and I am almost 100 percent positive that I am using the incorrect version. I know the laptop and RIB I have work perfect, so this has to be the problem (I hope).
My question is; does anyone know the other software versions for this series of radios ??
Tim

The latest m1225 cps V4 is available for download free if you have an MOL account...its in the resource center.
Re: Need info on M1225 RSS Versions.....probs with tx/rx
I have been using R3.2 for some time now, no problems noted using it with all my conv. M1225s, portables as well.

If you're using anything beyond Win 98/ME, then you require V4.0 in order to read/write the radio. The 3.x and earlier versions are not NT/XP or later compatible.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

One note here is worth commenting on....
in order to download ANY CPS/RSS on the MOL site, you MUST have an active subscription for the software you need, you can not download RSS for M1225 if your subscription is for the Astro Saber/XTS line.
I tried and was told that by 'Agent 'M' at Circle-M.
I tried and could not get the latest for the M1225, so, for me, it must be so...
Probably time to jump ship and go with Relm soon, as I like the B/K branded radios and they are nowhere near as tighta**ed as Circle-M is.
I call B/K and a few days later, I have fresh software...at a far lower cost and NO subscription fees.

I have a similar situation - that same version of RSS running on my trusty IBM 386SX/25 RSS programming computer booted to Win 3.11. The RSS recognizes the RIB but not the radio.N9NU wrote:Hi

If I run the COM Port test the radio beeps twice (so it must be receiving data) but the test times out with the check radio power/cable error.
This is a good fully working radio I am just attempting to reprogram for narrow band.
Does the 2 beeps but unable to read mean it is a wrong RSS version problem?
